The People and Culture Manager will be an integral part of the Administration and Culture team and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Office of the Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for oversight of Friends of the Earth’s People, Culture, Compliance, Finance, Operations and HR. The People and Culture manager will lead the organizations People, Culture, and HR functions.

The salary range for this full-time remote role is $92,000 - $112,000. Offers are determined based on relevant skills and knowledge required for the position.

 

What the Role Needs:

People Leader: You are a transformational and authentic leader, who develops and deploys strategies that best support the Friends of the Earth staff and leadership. A manager who sets direction and provides support, consultation, and guidance to the HR team, staff, and leadership.  A compensation specialist who assesses internal equity, external benchmarking, and Performance Management phases. And implement strategic direction set by Chief Operating Officer.


Change Agent: You have a reputation for producing results, maintaining momentum across multiple projects. You anticipate obstacles, create detailed plans, involve stakeholders appropriately, and leverage the right resources. You are innovative and willing to challenge assumptions and take risks when spearheading change.


Process Boss:  As the Human Resources (HR) lead, you will oversee all Talent Management functions including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, offboarding staff, benefits, and leave processes, performance management, engagement, and ownership of our HRIS system.  You are a diligent administrator of organizational policies and practices, including employee relations, managing conflicts, and contributing to a respectful workplace.


Culture Champion -   You demonstrate and support a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. An authentic leader who can develop relationships across lines of difference, such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender identity, citizenship status, or other identities. You are a skilled listener who makes time to understand all sides with openness and direct communication


Required Qualifications:  

  • A minimum of seven years in human resources with employee relations experience
  • Three years’ experience managing staff and consultants
  • Operational knowledge of HR systems best practices and employment related laws.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to delegate tasks.
  • Demonstrated proficiency as a collaborator, active listener, negotiator, and presenter
  • Solutions orientation problem solver utilizing an analytical data driven approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience with HR systems preferably Bamboo
  • HR experience in compensation, talent acquisition, or business partner
